ELYSIUM (Formerly Zen) Addon Discussion
« on: June 19, 2017, 02:06:53 pm »
Hi all,
I thought it would be a great idea to start a thread for the Elysium addon.
Since it seems people are having problems with Exodus and other video apps quite often these days, Elysium is a great addon to have and works like Exodus.
Here is the koditips link for the install.

I really like the Elysium addon as well but the only thing that I do not like is that it doesn't have trakt integration, which they are working on getting soon. The library loads really slow and the sources don't play that well at the moment. It loads up a lot of links with Real Debrid but a lot of them don't play. Great addon nonetheless, but just wanted to express my experiences in the new forums :) thanks!

Elysium doesn't work for me.  It locks up my system.  Zen worked very well with Kodi 16.  But after upgrade to 17, Zen became buggy and often crashed.  Same with Elysium.  I believe the cause is Kodi 17's poor coding for Linux and Elysium makes this apparent.  Elysium does not seem to be able to compensate here.  My system is a DIY PC w/ Linux OS, 16G RAM, and SSD.  Internet is fast.  PC is connected via cable to my router.  Exodus and Specto run well.  I've tested against several Linux distros.  I've been working with computers since 1970.

Would love to see native Trakt integration and in progress shows (trakt) menu with all the other stuff the other addons using Trakt have

It works well for me on Android, and is a good alternative to other similar add-ons. I have it as well on my PC but have not used that enough to see if there are any issues.

Trakt integration is a must for me unfortunately.

Don't want to go off topic, but those that have moved to ELYSIUM due to Exodus being down, have they checked the exodus thread on this very forum? There is a new zip to install the repo from, then you can update and there are no issues - at least not for me.

i would hope they have been checking the koditips home page.
I do prefer Exodus but i like having a solid backup even if it isnt quite as good.

IMHO - One thing Elysium developers did NOT do is test Elysium on a desktop PC running a Linux OS.

Elysium search not working, cant even browse tv shows or movies, but favorites abd library stuff plays through the addon.
Kind of strange. Anyone else seeing anything like that?

Yup it's live. Should go automatically or when you force updates to version 06.27f. If it doesn't, install the Elysium Repository correctly from this guide http://koditips.com/elysium-kodi-addon-install-formerly-zen/

I can't update past 2017.06.10
Is something down or is it just me?

I had some problems earlier updating it on my second box. Could try removing and installing Elysium repo again. I forced updated on nan and Elysium repo and got it finally.

Elysium is updated, the only thing not working is trakt. I can see trakt in the accounts section but no Authorization...is this an issue with everyone?

1. Elysium like others are plugins, they do not have system access, kodi is the application, not these plugins, they're a subset of kodi and are only allowed to do what kodi allows them to do, they can not crash distros or operating systems, however kodi mismanaging these plugins, can.

2. Exodus like other plugins use trakt.py to support trakt, trakt blocked the exodus api key, the updated exodus uses the official trakt apps key now.

Hmm, my trakt is working with elysium great
There are multiple possibilities with trakt
1. An configuration option in the App to define your trakt Account
2. A menu option in the App to query trakt for unwatched shows
3. After the search for a show, the App will query trakt and show episodes that have been watched
4. A pop-up to rate a show after it has been watched

#1 - Under Config, Accounts there is Trakt tittle but it cannot be accessed
#2 - Does not exist
#3 - Working
#4 - Working

K4Me, do you have any suggestions about #1, I can see Trakt under accounts but there's no Authorize.

Exodus does this. No idea if Elysium will be enhanced with this option.

it does, did you toggle the option "Enable Debrid Providers" under settings?
