Site Layout Suggestions
« on: June 18, 2017, 10:01:18 pm »
Have any ideas to make the forums look better? Post them below and I'll see what I can do.

I ultimately want a clean and streamlined look. My biggest pet peeve with other similar forums is that there are FAR too many discussion categories.

To-do:
- Create updates icons everywhere: Posts, Karma, read/unread, sticky, etc

Agreed, stick to what users really want to know, where to find good addons and m3u lists.

Agreed. Keep the number of discussion points to a minimum.... Only the most important topics should be discussed.

a list of current legit and reliable repos would be good. a topic admin can update from time to time

Should be sticky post's by admins for status on repos and addons. Also what about adding an android app section considering the amount of past kodi addon developers now making android apps.

I like the look of the site, clean layout. And it's not cluttered which I always find annoying on a lot of forum sites. Good job.

Spent a bunch of time tightening up spacing tonight. I encourage all users to set up an avatar in their profile settings!!

Unless we really blow up with consistent visitors, I don't want to create sections for specific add-ons (e.g. Exodus). I hope the Exodus topic thread blows up to 1000 posts instead.

Forum for android apps is a decent idea I'm considering.

For legit and working addons, our website has the latest information on add-ons always. if someone wanted to make a topic and keep it updated I welcome that.

Separated Kodi general discussion from the help needed section for obvious reasons :D

I second the idea about a sticky post to refer to in order to see repo/addon status.

I would like to see a "current topics" button. Everything that has been posted over the last 24 hours. It really is not need yet, but I think it will be shortly

About the site name KODItips. Why not remove the word KODI from the site name just to avoid conflict with the KODI trademark people? (Alternative Addons)'

Current topics does exist. At the top of the page beside your avatar there is a Recent Topics link.

Regarding the name, always open to suggestions!

Thank you , for the direction on "recent topics" . Sorry I'm not very creative when it comes to site names.

Need a "New Posts" button that lists the new posts since last forum visit in chronological order.

A recent unread topics button at the bottom of the page so you don't need to scroll to the top to hit it.
I guess updated topics link would be nice also

I like the nice clean look you've got going as i find most other sites have way to many topics and threads...

The sticky idea of current and work/no work for plugins is a nice idea...

Sometimes its good to wait abit and see how things start  to pan out and make your choices to start cleaning up the messing areas as they form.. but sofar i like the look as its simple and clean...

maybe to late now but a bold sticky explaining that tvaddons and fusion are gone and non working would have/be good.
so many people coming on asking why their fusion or indigo doesnt work.
