Ipvanish is just a VPN which will help protect your privacy and give you the ability to get around geo-blocking in some cases...

Protecting your privacy includes hiding your traffics content from your provider so if ISP throttling is a issue with your provider it should help by moving your traffic outside their casted net for whatever traffic they are trying to throttle...

Vpn's are generally a good idea, but recently has become a huge growing market thats driven by a lot of misunderstanding as everyones climbed onto the "rewards systems" being offered to a lot of dealers looking to extend their revenue streams which has lead promoting certain VPN's that kinda go against the real reason to have one in the first place... understanding the real reason why you should want one is worth the investment in time because it will help you choose the one appropriate for your needs rather then just buying one thats constantly rated "the best" in the marketing crap these days... lets not forget that most of the types that review this stuff are either getting paid or being compensated in some form to do so...

Point being... VPN's are to PROTECT your privacy, and that should mean that if your here in North America you don't want a VPN provider who has their head office within the USA reach... 5-eyes is a term worth googling... Others will say it dont matter but if you can get similar rates from some VPN thats definately outside 5-eyes reach why take the risk by placing your trust in some US company saying it don't log and would not cave into the NSA...
